

Welcome to the E-Learning and Knowledge-Sharing (ELKS) community of expertise, led by the Beyond Distance Research Alliance at the University of Leicester as part of the UN Global Alliance for ICT and Development (UN-GAID).

In the area of e-learning, distance and mobile learning, the community aims to:
• foreground best practice
• develop & disseminate guidelines, templates and standards
• address emerging issues such as digital exclusion, improving student learning and social development
• share knowledge and findings of research studies relating to Higher Education
• facilitate multi-stakeholder partnerships and resource-sharing for research
This e-community will function as a web-based collaborative network with:
• regular key events online
• special interest or working groups
• sharing of resources, ideas, and images
• online courses such as e-moderating and course design
Membership of the community is open to individuals and institutions. All members are expected to participate by taking a key part in online discussions (individuals) and hosting online events related to their area of expertise (organisations).
